Upcycling in style

Old carpet samples and production waste get a second life with AW’s design contest. While sorting and recycling will always be important environmental measures in the carpet and floor covering industry, upcycling pushes the envelope that bit further. By upgrading waste into new, desirable products, AW takes an ecological stand while feeding its creative hunger. The contest challenges Belgian design, fashion and textile students to create a product, garment, furniture or accessory with carpet scraps. The finest design wins a cash prize and is displayed at the international Domotex fair in Hannover, Germany.
